Terry Rich, Iowa State Lottery Chief Executive, is featured in an article by demoinesregister.com highlighting new point of sale equipment for Iowa Lottery. The Iowa Lottery will be installing new online ticketing terminals in the 2,400 Iowa retailers that sell jackpot lottery products starting this month. As explained in the short video article by John Gaps III, the Lottery is also installing new LCD signs at the point of sale and new LED-lit window jackpot signs, with the expectation of boosting sales of popular games such as Powerball and Mega Millions. According to the video, the new system will also offer Iowa Lottery customers the convenience of quicker service as well as a reduced chance of theft by retail clerks. The Iowa Lottery’s contract with their online vending partner Scientific Games includes the installation in high traffic areas of new LED-lit wireless jackpot signs by Carmanah Signs with bright Powerball and Mega Millions logos and jackpots– an example of the sign is shown in the video article. Carmanah’s LED-lit jackpot window signs have been shown to boost sales in other US lottery jurisdictions where they have been installed. The jackpot signs are updated automatically via a wireless connection to the online ticket terminal, ensuring that retail customers are reminded of the updated jackpot as they enter the store. Carmanah Signs is pleased to be a part of this important upgrade to the Iowa Lottery’s point of sale equipment.
