Virginia LOttery Digital Menu Boards & PlayStations Lift Sales
Carmanah Signs, IGT, and the Virginia Lottery worked together to test the new digital retail communication platform at a mix of convenience stores, convenience-with-gas, and supermarkets. One group of retailers received Digital Menu Boards, a second group received Digital PlayStations, and a third group received both Digital Menu Boards and Digital PlayStations. Retailers included Kroger, Publix, 7-Eleven, and independently-owned stores.
Year-over-year, the convenience-with-gas pilots grew sales by 9%, convenience-without-gas grew 7%, and supermarkets grew nearly 15%. All three groups outperformed their comparable stores within the same trades.
Texas Lottery Launches First In-Lane Solution in USA
Texas Lottery players can now get their Powerball and MegaMillions tickets while in the checkout lane at participating Dollar General stores! Carmanah is proud to provide the Wireless Jackpot Signs for this project, collaborating with Texas Lottery, IGT, InComm, Pollard Banknote, and Dollar General in launching the first in-lane lottery solution in the United States.
The In-Lane Jackpot Signs are powered by Carmanah’s In-Lane Jackpot Sign Monitoring & Support Software, an Internet-based solution that requires no lottery terminal integration. This allows the Texas Lottery to communicate jackpot values and monitor signs at Dollar General locations, which have never sold lottery before and do not have lottery terminals.
OLG’s Digital Menu Boards
Ontario Lottery & Gaming Corporation (OLG) is expanding its Digital Menu Board network based on strong performance from a pilot test at key account retailers. The test yielded a 7% sales increase across the lottery category, an improvement over past performance. The expansion will add 250 new key account stores, primarily under the Circle K banners. OLG’s digital signage network is designed and operated by Carmanah Signs, the Lottery & Gaming Division of STRATACACHE.
Pioneering In-Lane in Ireland
Shifting retail channels. An aging population and player base. Changing consumer preferences. A familiar story for North American lotteries, but this particular story takes place in Ireland.
Over the past couple of years, Premier Lotteries Ireland (PLI), Fastrak Retail UK, and Carmanah Signs have worked collaboratively to co-develop in-lane solutions for the Irish National Lottery, breaking into the discount sector and optimizing thousands of checkout lanes across Ireland.
